‘A Farewell to Arms’ update for Enter the Gungeon now available

April 6, 2019 by Patrick Nolan

As of yesterday, the final update for Enter the Gungeon is now available on all platforms that can currently play the game; this includes all three consoles and PC. You can check out a trailer for the update here…

In the update two new characters, or ‘Gungeoneers,’ will be available to play; one of the characters is called The Paradox and the other is known as The Gunslinger. There is also a wealth of other new content, all available for free, in ‘A Farewell to Arms.’ New guns, bosses, game modes and secret floors have arrived in the update.

April 5th also marked the three-year anniversary of Enter the Gungeon’s original release on PlayStation 4 and PC. This occasion also marks the end of updates arriving for Devolver Digital and Dodge Roll Games’ critically acclaimed dungeon crawler. There was supposed to be a paid expansion for Gungeon in the future, but Dodge Roll cancelled it last year due to issues the developer was having with applying new ideas to the game. The reddit post where this announcement was made also claimed that Dodge Roll would be starting work on a new game after the release of the final update, what that game will be we do not yet know.

According to a press release from the publisher, the game has managed to sell over 2.5 million copies in its three-year life span on all platforms, so it can be assumed to be a commercial success of some kind. If you still have not picked Enter the Gungeon up, then it is currently available for 50% off on all platforms.

Have you played Enter the Gungeon? If so what did you think? Are you going to play the new update? Tell us in the comments or on social media.
