Borderlands 3 gameplay reveal streams offer viewers chance to win in-game gear

April 30, 2019 by Lewis Pell

Viewers who watch the Borderlands 3 gameplay livestreams on May 1st will be in with a chance to win in-game gear that can be used in Borderlands 3 from its release date of September 13th 2019.

Players will be able to watch over a hundred different streamers play Borderlands 3. Each stream will have the new Echocast plugin which will grant viewers the ability to look at the inventory of the streamer that they are watching which will included their backpack, main inventory and selected skill tree. Each streamer will have four red chests hidden in the gameplay demo. In the event that a stream finds one of these red chests they can open it and viewers will have a 30 second window to opt-in to get the rewards inside. Only 25% of players that have opted-in will get whatever is in the chest, and if they are not quick enough to snag it they will be given a random weapon.

The livestreams will run from 10am PT to 1pm ET on Twitch. The rare chest event will take place twice on May 1st with the first session taking place at 10:45 to 1:45 pm PT and the second session  between 4:45 pm to 7:45 pm. So, if you got the time, give it a watch for a chance of winning loot.
