The Avengers: Endgame white suits are to help separate the film from Infinity War

April 10, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Kevin Feige has revealed that the white suits seen in the trailers for Avengers: Endgame are being used in marketing to help differentiate the film from Infinity War.

With Avengers: Endgame nearly upon us, there are many questions fans still have about the movie, some stemming from the film’s trailers. One talking point has certainly been the white suits seen being worn by our heroes – something we haven’t seen before.

What’s this all about? Well, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has revealed the reason why these suits have been placed prominently in the film’s marketing in a recent interview with io9:

“We call them the team suits. And we early on decided [revealing them] was a big differentiating factor between [Endgame] and the other films. The Avengers have never had matching outfits before, [so] we thought it was a very intriguing image to see something that made this film feel new.

“[We had to] make it feel more than just Infinity War II. Because it’s not. Those team suits add something fresh to it. As does Hawkeye, as does Captain Marvel. As does Scott Lang. All of whom were not in Infinity War, hence Scott Lang and Hawkeye being revealed in that first trailer, and Captain Marvel in the next one.”

We will have to wait and see how big a role the suits will actually play in the film itself but these marketing tactics certainly seem like good ones from the studio, if the goal is to make Endgame seem like an entirely new entity.

Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts), Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One) and Frank Grillo (Crossbones), as well as Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine) and Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why).
