Warhammer: Vermintide 2’s Winds of Magic expansion coming this August

May 30, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Fatshark has announced that Winds of Magic, the upcoming expansion to their award winning Warhammer: Vermintide 2, will be released this August.  The expansion will bring lots more content, including new challenges and fearsome new enemies for players to fight.  Meet these fierce new enemies in the cinematic trailer below…

The Winds of Magic expansion will introduce the true bearers of the mark of Chaos, the Beastmen.  These horned warriors are hybrids of humans and beasts and will be the toughest enemy faction that players will face due to their ferocious melee attacks and brute strength.

All heroes will get a unique weapon that will fit their style of combat and bring something new to the abilities of the heroes.  In this new expansion Bardin will receive a throwing axe which will come in useful for dispatching enemies at a safer distance.

The expansion will bring the eight winds of magic to heroes and will provide a nearly endless difficulty curve that will challenge even the most skilled of players.

Finally, the upcoming expansion will bring leaderboards so players can share their skill with the rest of the Vermintide 2 community.

“Winds of Magic is the next chapter in the Vermintide 2 saga, and it brings plenty of new material to the already well established Vermintide 2 universe.” say Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark. “The Beastmen alone is a great addition, but combining it with new ways to play the game, new weapons, new challenges, and all the winds, will make Vermintide 2 look like a completely new game.”

Get ready for the Winds of Magic blowing in this August.
