Marvel’s Black Widow begins filming as first set photos of Scarlett Johansson emerge

June 2, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Although we’re yet to get an official announcement from Marvel, cameras are now rolling on the studio’s first superhero offering of 2020 with several batches of set photos making their way online from the Norway set of Black Widow showing Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff; check them out via the Twitter links below – although in fairness, there’s nothing too exciting going on just yet…

Black Widow is being directed by Cate Shortland (Lore), and sees Johansson starring alongside David Harbour (Hellboy), Florence Pugh (Fighting With My Family), Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) and O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale).

Specific character details are being kept under wraps at this point, as is the plot – although it’s safe to assume, given the events of Avengers: Endgame, that the film will serve as a prequel (recent rumours have suggested that it may be set after Captain America: Civil War).

Marvel’s Black Widow is set for release in 2020.
