Sylvester Stallone is open to a sixth Rambo movie

June 16, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Although its being billed as his last outing in the long-running action franchise, Sylvester Stallone has revealed that he’s open to strapping on the headband and reprising the role of John J. Rambo should the upcoming Rambo: Last Blood prove a hit with fans.

“Let me just say something about the ‘last’ of anything,” said Stallone during a recent Q&A (via Joblo). “I thought Rocky III was the last, you know. So I don’t know anything. If it works I’ll just keep going, you know, because I enjoy it so much.”

Rambo: Last Blood will see the former Green Beret pulled out his peaceful retirement as a horse rancher as he ventures across the U.S.-Mexican border to rescue his friend’s kidnapped daughter, only to find himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most ruthless drug cartels.

The first trailer for Last Blood was giving off some Logan-style vibes, and it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if Stallone brings the curtain down on the franchise by killing off Rambo (the character was, after all, originally supposed to die in First Blood). Whether Stallone is simply trying to protect the film’s ending, or a Rambo VI: Last Blood Part II could be on the cards, we shall see this September…

Almost four decades after he drew first blood, Sylvester Stallone is back as one of the greatest action heroes of all time, John Rambo. Now, Rambo must confront his past and unearth his ruthless combat skills to exact revenge in a final mission. A deadly journey of vengeance, RAMBO: LAST BLOOD marks the last chapter of the legendary series.

Rambo V: Last Blood is directed by Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) and sees Sylvester Stallone joined in the cast by Paz Vega (The OA), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Snowfall), Adriana Barraza (The Strain), Yvette Monreal (Faking It), Oscar Jaenada (The Shallows) and Joaquin Cosio (Narcos: Mexico).
