Aya Cash in talks to play Stormfront in The Boys season 2

July 15, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Although it’s yet to receive an official renewal, it seems the signs are good for a second season of the upcoming superhero drama series The Boys, as Deadline is reporting that casting is already underway on season two.

According to the site, Aya Cash (You’re the Worst) is in talks to take on the gender-swapped role of Stormfront, who in the comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson is described as “an unrepentant bigot, an alumnus of the Hitler Youth, and one of the most powerful superhumans on earth.”

The Boys has been developed for TV by Eric Kripke (Supernatural), Evan Goldberg & Seth Rogen (Preacher). It is set in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their celebrity, and follows a group of vigilantes – ‘The Boys’ – who set out to take down corrupt superheroes and those who abuse their abilities.

In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, THE BOYS centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as “The Boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than their blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. THE BOYS is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes.

The Boys premieres on July 26th on Amazon Prime and features a cast that includes Karl Urban (Thor: Ragnarok), Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games), Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad), Laz Alonso (Traffik), Antony Starr (American Gothic), Dominique McElligott (The Last Tycoon), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Erin Moriarty (True Detective), Jessie T. Usher (Independence Day: Resurgence), Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas) and Nathan Mitchell (iZombie).
