Next Saints Row instalment is “deep in development”

August 14, 2019 by Liam Waddington

THQ Nordic has announced Volition, the developer behind Saints Row and Agents of Mayhem, is developed a brand-new instalment in the Saints Row series during an earnings call this morning.

The last entry in the series was back in 2013 with the release of Saints Row 4, and with the expansion Gat out of Hell releasing in 2015, fans have been waiting four years for a new adventure in the long-running franchise.

After the success of Saints Row 4, it’s no surprise that a Saints Row 5 title is currently in production. However, there is no further news on the game, except that the project is “deep in development”. THQ Nordic did state in a press release that they are “expect to have at least two major AAA-releases during the next financial year ending March 31, 2021”, so its possible the next Saints Row game could be released during this time frame.

With Gamescom happening next week and THQ Nordic attending, we could possibly see an announcement trailer for the next Saints Row game. Are you looking forward to a new instalment in this franchise? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @FMyth_Gaming…
