Bumblebee’s Travis Knight in talks to direct Tom Holland in Uncharted film

September 27, 2019 by Ricky Church

After Dan Tratchenberg departed Sony’s Uncharted last month, it seems that the studio may have found a new director for the video game adaptation as Deadline is reporting that Travis Knight (Bumblebee) is in talks to helm the film.

The film will star Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home) as the franchise’s central protagonist Nathan Drake in a direct prequel to the video games. It will focus on Drake as a young man and chart his expeditions as an Indiana Jones style adventurer, taking in his first meeting with partner Victor Sullivan, and setting up the blockbuster PlayStation franchise.

The script was written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins. The Uncharted games have been a huge success for Sony and PlayStation and is one of the most recognizable games on their platform. The Naughty Dog produced videogame has sold over 41 million copies.

Uncharted will begin production early next year.
