My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way to score Clerks 3

Just a few weeks after it was announced that Kevin Smith is set to return to the Quick Stop for Clerks III, the filmmaker has now reportedly revealed that former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way is set to compose the score for Dante and Randal’s next big screen outing.

Smith is said to have announced Way’s involvement during a roadshow screening of his View Askewniverse return Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Way, who is currently focusing his attention on comic book writing, including the Eisner Award-winning The Umbrella Academy, and will be making his debut as a film composer on Clerks III.

Smith recently revealed the plot for Clerks III, which will see Randal deciding to make a movie after suffering a heart attack, roping in Dante to create a low-budget independent movie about two convenience store clerks.
