Aubrey Plaza and Michael Caine are Best Sellers

November 8, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Aubrey Plaza (Legion, Ingrid Goes West) has signed on to star alongside screen legend Michael Caine in Best Sellers, the upcoming feature directorial debut of Lina Roessler.

The film will see Caine playing a has-been author, who embarks on a wild book tour accompanied by a young editor (Plaza) who is trying to save her father’s struggling publishing company.

While Caine’s author just wants to live out his days in peace and misery with a bottle of scotch and a cigar, Plaza’s editor tries to pull him out of his reclusion.

Scripted by Anthony Grieco (and the recipient of the 2015 Nicholl Fellowshow in Screenwriting), Best Sellers is set to begin shooting this month.

Plaza recently wrapped filming on the suspense drama Black Bear alongside Christopher Abbott and Sarah Gadon, and also has the Netflix comedy feature Hope on her upcoming slate.
