Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas erotic thriller Deep Water gets November 2020 release

November 20, 2019 by Ricky Church

Director Adrian Lyne’s (Fatal Attractions) latest erotic thriller Deep Water has just been given a release date. According to Bloody Disgusting, the film, which stars Ben Affleck (Triple Frontier) and Ana de Armas (Knives Out) will be released Friday, November 13th, 2020.

Based on the novel of the same name by Patricia Highsmith and scripted by Zack Helm (Stranger Than Fiction) and Sam Levinson (Euphoria), the film will see Affleck and de Armas as “Vic and Melinda Van Allen, an attractive young married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead. The couple staves off divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each to take lovers, but it soon becomes messy.”

Joining Affleck and de Armas in the film will be Tracy Letts (The Lovers), Rachel Blanchard (Fargo), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Jacob Elordi (Euphoria), Kristen Connolly (Cabin in the Woods), Dash Mihok (Ray Donovan) and Jade Fernandez (Little).

Lyne is heading back to familiar territory here, having enjoyed huge success in the erotic thriller genre with the likes of 9 1/2 Weeks, Fatal Attraction and Indecent Proposal.

Affleck recently signed on to reunite with Matt Damon in Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, while de Armas recently shot the next James Bond film No Time to Die and is about to begin principal photography on Blonde, where she plays Marilyn Monroe.
