Billy Elliot with comedian Alexandra Haddow | The Pick of the Flicks Podcast #56

November 20, 2019 by Tom Beasley

On The Pick of the Flicks Podcast, a different guest drops in every week to chat about their favourite film. This week, stand-up comedian Alexandra Haddow boogies on down with Billy Elliot…

On this week’s episode of The Pick of the Flicks Podcast, stand-up comedian Alexandra Haddow stops by to discuss the early noughties British classic Billy Elliot, in which Julie Walters helps Jamie Bell become a ballet dancer against the backdrop of the 1980s miners’ strike. We chat about the bleakness of the 1980s, Bell’s brilliant performance and unusual crushes on members of the supporting cast.
