J.J. Abrams says this time he is definitely done with the Star Wars franchise

December 18, 2019 by Samuel Brace

J.J. Abrams, the director of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, says this time he is one hundred percent done making Star Wars films.

In no time at all, fans around the world will get to experience The Rise of Skwalker for themselves – the last film in the Skywalker saga. J.J. Abrams returned to the franchise to direct the movie after first having helmed The Force Awakens.

The director’s return certainly wasn’t planned, however, and when asked if he could come back again for another Star Wars project, Abram’s ruled it out. Speaking to Variety, Abrams said “this time, I know” that he’s done and “I can feel it.”

Abrams also said: “This crew, this cast have been the most amazing I’ve ever known and so I feel very lucky to have gotten to come back, and sad that I won’t be working with them anymore.”
