Lee Daniels adapt new Robert Kirkman comic Stealth for the big screen

December 23, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Lee Daniels (Precious, The Butler) has signed on to direct a feature adaptation of the upcoming Robert Kirkman and Marc Silvestri comic book Stealth, which will be produced by Universal Pictures and Skybound Entertainment.

The Stealth comic book is set to launch in March from Image and Skybound, and the official description reads:

For decades, Stealth has waged war on crime in Detroit, but now he’s taken his pursuit of justice too far. Only reporter Tony Barber knows that behind Stealth’s reckless behavior is an older man battling Alzheimer’s—his father. A father unwilling to accept that he’s no longer the hero this city needs… with enemies all too eager to force his retirement.

Iron Man writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby have been tapped to write the screenplay for Stealth, while Daniels will direct and produce with Pam Williams and Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst of Skybound Entertainment.
