Wonder Woman 1984 merchandise offers first look at Cheetah

December 6, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Although we’ve already seen the above image of Kristen Wiig as Barbara Ann Minerva from Wonder Woman 1984, we’re yet to get a look at the character as her villainous alter-ego Cheetah. And, while that may come with this Sunday’s first trailer, it seems we may have a sneak peek courtesy of some some merchandise from the DC sequel which has made its way online; check it out here…

Should the illustration prove accurate, it’s certainly in fitting with the 80s aesthetic of the movie, and would also seem to contradict recent rumours from an alleged test screening, which suggested that Cheetah’s costume made her “look like a reject from the upcoming Cats film”. Hopefully we’ll find out this coming Sunday…

What do you make of Cheetah’s costume? Are you hoping for a design more faithful to the comics? Let us know in the comments below or on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…

Wonder Woman 1984 reunites director Patty Jenkins with stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Ewen Bremner (Charlie), Said Taghmaoui (Sameer), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe), Doutzen Kroes (Venelia) and new additions Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) as Maxwell Lord, Natasha Rothwell (Love, Simon), Ravi Patel (Master of None, Grandfathered) and Gabriella Wilde (Doctor Who, Poldark) in an as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on June 5th 2020.
