British heavy cruisers sail onto World of Warships in latest update

January 16, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Update 0.9.0 is now live for World of Warships and sees the expansion of the mighty Royal Navy with the addition of a new series of British heavy cruisers.  These new ships arrive as part of a new British Cruisers event which will also introduce British Tokens, new Directives and Random Bundles.  Fan favourite Dasha Perova gives all the info in the trailer below…

Four new heavy cruisers from Tiers V-VIII will be available to players, these are the Hawkins (Tier V), Devonshire (Tier VI), Surrey (Tier VII), Albemarle (Tier VIII).  These ships come with the regal Victorian White permanent camouflage and a considerable amount of firepower which makes them ideal at medium range.  They are also equipped with torpedoes giving them protection against subs and also have strong armor distribution and effective Repair party.

Players can get their hands on these vessels by using British Tokens, a temporary new resource that can be obtained from Daily shipments or for completing Daily Missions and the four new Directives.

The second part of the update will bring Lunar New Year celebrations with a theme of the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West.  This celebration will see three new Pan-Asian ships making their debut, alongside their unique commanders, flags, patches and permanent camouflages.

Finally, a select few ships have been upgraded to premium status which will bring in more credits for owners once unlocked.  These are ARP Kongo, ARP Kirishima, ARP Haruna, ARP Hiei, ARP Myoko, ARP Nachi, ARP Ashigara, ARP Haguro and ARP Takao, as well as Southern Dragon and Eastern Dragon.

Go get those British Heavy Cruisers and show the world how Britain rules the waves.
