Margot Robbie joins Christian Bale in David O. Russell’s new film

February 12, 2020 by Ricky Church

Birds of Prey star Margot Robbie will be starring alongside Christian Bale in David O. Russell’s new film, his first since 2015’s Joy.

Plot details for the as-yet-untitled film are being kept tightly under wraps, but the project is said to be on the fast track at New Regency and is looking to start production in April. Russell will write and direct the film.

Robbie is just coming off Birds of Prey (now renamed Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey) playing Harley Quinn and is currently reprising the role for a third time for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Last year she starred in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood and Jay Roach’s Bombshell, the latter of which earned her nominations in several awards shows, namely the Oscars, Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild in the Best Supporting Actress category.

Russell was last behind the camera for 2015’s Joy, while Bale is coming off James Mangold’s Ford v Ferrari.
