Samurai Shodown arrives on Nintendo Switch

February 25, 2020 by Andrew Newton

SNK and Deep Silver have announced that their critically acclaimed fighting game, Samurai Shodown, is now available on Nintendo Switch.  After the game’s success on Xbox One and Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch players will be able to experience a fighting game that took the world by storm.  Check out the game’s new launch trailer below….

Samurai Shodown is the latest title in a series that dates back to 1993 and is set one year before the events of the original Samurai Shodown game.  The land of the rising sun is still a violent, volatile place and players will be able to use 13 returning characters as well as 3 completely new fighters to release the tensions that have built up in the land.  Players will once again be able to enjoy classic Samurai Shodown concepts like the Rage Gauge, Lightning Blade, and Super Special Moves.

With the Nintendo Switch version of Samurai Shodown players will be able to fight it out in 1700’s Japan at home and play in the comfort of their own homes.  Alternatively, play anywhere using the Switch’s handheld mode.  Players can even use the Switch’s Table Top mode to battle against a friend, simply by passing them a Joy-Con.

Samurai Shodown also features a revolutionary Deep Learning AI that will learn from player tactics and moves and use this information to create a Ghost character that players around the world can fight against.

Samurai Shodown is available now from retailers and the Nintendo eShop.
