Creed II’s Florian Munteanu reportedly joins Marvel’s Shang-Chi, Fin Fang Foom rumoured to appear

March 11, 2020 by Gary Collinson

According to a report from Dark Horizons, Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has added Creed II actor Florian Munteanu to its cast, with the professional boxer set to portray a “secondary villain” in the Phase Four solo movie.

Shang-Chi is currently in production at Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia, and Dark Horizons’ report appears to be supported from an Instagram post from Munteanu, where he tagged his latest photo from Sydney with the caption “Another day at the office”.

Meanwhile, a rumour is also circulating by way of “scooper” Daniel Richtman which claims that the dragon-like alien Fin Fang Foom is set to make an appearance in the film. While unconfirmed, the character does have strong ties to Shang-Chi’s villain The Mandarin, who obtains his ten power rings from Fin Fang Foom’s ancient crashed spaceship, and so it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see the extra-terrestrial villain pop up in some capacity.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (The Glass Castle) and will see Simu Liu (Kim’s Convenience) taking on role of the Master of Kung-Fu alongside Tony Leung (Infernal Affairs) as The Mandarin and Awkwafina (The Farewell) in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on February 12th 2021.
