A first look teaser has arrived online from Leonardo, a new drama series from co-creators Steve Thompson (Doctor Who) and Frank Spotnitz (The Man in the High Castle), which sees Poldark star Aidan Turner portraying the legendary artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci. Check it out here…
“It’s both a challenge and an honour to dramatize the life of one of the most fascinating people who ever lived,” said Spotnitz. “Leonardo is constantly surprising, and despite his fame remains an enigma more than 500 years after his death. We’ve uncovered sometimes little-noticed clues about Leonardo’s life and pieced them together in a puzzle that attempts to reveal the humanity behind the genius.”
The series – a co-production between Sony Pictures Television, Lux Vide, RAI Fiction, Big Light Productions, France Televisions and RTVE – is slated to premiere in 2021, although as yet there’s no word on any broadcasters for the UK or North America.
