Rick and Morty writer to script Ant-Man 3 for Marvel

April 5, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Back in November it was revealed that Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp helmer Peyton Reed had closed a deal to return to the director’s chair for a third instalment in the Marvel Studios franchise, and now comes word that work on the script is underway.

As revealed by THR, Jeff Loveness, a writer and co-producer on Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty, has signed on to write the screenplay for Scott Lang’s third solo outing, and actually closed his deal around a month ago.

Although there’s been no official announcements from Marvel regarding Ant-Man 3, both Paul Rudd (Scott Lang) and Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne) are expected to return, while Michael Douglas has also confirmed he’ll be returning as Hank Pym.

It had been thought that Ant-Man 3 would shoot in 2021, but that remains to be seen now given that Marvel Studios has shut down production on its current projects and pushed back all of its Phase Four releases in the wake of the current global health crisis.
