Paul Dano says The Batman script is “potentially really powerful”

June 3, 2020 by Matt Rodgers

With the recent news that The Batman can resume filming in the UK once the pandemic safety measures are adhered to, we’re starting to get more stories from the cast and crew about how their schedule has been affected by the halt in production. Zoë Kravitz has spoken about her back-to-work process as Catwoman, and now Paul Dano, aka Edward Nashton, aka The Riddler, has been talking to The Playlist about his role in Matt Reeves’ reboot.

On the enforced hiatus, Dano said “I was filming. I flew home to visit my baby and then didn’t get to fly back, which is a really strange thing. But I feel really good about it. I think Matt Reeves is the real deal. I was really surprised by his script, which I think is, is potentially really powerful. Hopefully we’ll get to get back to it sometime soon? I’m not sure.”

When riddled about his role, the Wildlife actor revealed that he “can’t even legally say anything about it”, but did go on to add that “There’s something fun there in my character and in all the characters. It’s the kind of movie that we’re just desperate to share on the big screen in a big way. So, I hope we all figure this out and get excited to see a Batman movie. It will be worth it. It’s going to be really cool.”
