Pierce Brosnan signs on for sci-fi thriller Youth

June 14, 2020 by Gary Collinson

The Wrap is reporting that Pierce Brosnan has signed on to star in the sci-fi thriller Youth, director Brett Marty’s feature adaptation of his 2016 short.

Youth takes place in a near future where ‘Renewal’, a procedure to reset a person’s biological clock, is the world’s hottest commodity. Brosnan will play Joel, “an ad-tech engineer who is about to retire at age 70, but his company doesn’t want to lose him and pays for him and his wife to Renew. His wife returns in her twenties, but Joel’s procedure goes wrong, and he begins aging rapidly.”

Former Bond star Brosnan was last seen in AMC Studios’ The Son, which finished its two-season run last year. He has a number of films incoming, including Netflix’s Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, which is set to premiere on the streaming service this month.
