Video Review – Disney’s Artemis Fowl (2020)

June 11, 2020 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno reviews the latest Disney+ movie release Artemis Fowl…

With source material that offers a lot of entertainment, Artemis Fowl has a good film at its core. Sadly, the lackluster VFX and strange acting performance from everyone take away from the overall experience. Join our host EJ Moreno as he dives into the latest release on Disney+. Once destined for the big-screen, the recent theatre closures drove Artemis Fowl to make its much-delayed debut on the streaming service.

Disney’s Artemis Fowl, based on the beloved book by Eoin Colfer, is a fantastical, spellbinding adventure that follows the journey of 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he seeks to find his father who has mysteriously disappeared. With the help of his loyal protector Butler, Artemis sets out to find him, and in doing so uncovers an ancient, underground civilization—the amazingly advanced world of fairies. Deducing that his father’s disappearance is somehow connected to the secretive, reclusive fairy world, cunning Artemis concocts a dangerous plan— so dangerous that he ultimately finds himself in a perilous war of wits with the all-powerful fairies.

Artemis Fowl features a cast that includes Ferdia Shaw, Judi Dench, Josh Gad, Lara McDonell, Tamara Smart, and Nonzo Anozie. The film will see its worldwide Disney Plus+ on June 12th.
