Hayley Atwell shows off her Mission: Impossible 7 physique with workout photo

July 17, 2020 by Ricky Church

With Mission: Impossible 7 set to resume production in September, franchise newcomer Hayley Atwell has shared a photo of her physique on Instagram as she works out for her mysterious role.

While details on her character are being kept mum, Atwell recently said of her: “There’s ambiguity… the interesting thing we’re exploring is her resistance to a situation she finds herself in. How she starts off, where she becomes. The journey of what she comes into and what is asked of her and potentially where she ends up.”

Mision: Impossible director Christopher McQuarrie also spoke about the appeal for Atwell in the series and her chemistry with lead star Tom Cruise. “For Hayley to exist in a franchise where other women had come and made statements, we said ‘well it can’t be like that.’ We don’t want Hayley to be a repeat of any character that’s come before. What’s left? What’s unique and what’s new? We wrote a scene about what we imagined the spark of that character to be, and that’s what Hayley came in and read. What we discovered there is this energy that Hayley had, specifically an energy with Tom. It’s not a vibe, it’s literally a vibration. You felt it and you were like, ‘I don’t know what to make of this person.”

Featuring in the cast of the spy sequels are returning stars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Henry Czerny, along with new additions Esai Morales (Titans), Hayley Atwell (Avengers: Endgame), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), and Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire).

Mission: Impossible 7  is set for release on November 19th, 2021 and Mission: Impossible 8 has a release date of November 4th, 2022.
