James Cameron says he looks at Avatar 2’s visuals and thinks “this is really amazing”

July 23, 2020 by Samuel Brace

James Cameron, the director of Avatar 2, has revealed that he is wowed by the film’s impressive visuals.

One thing you can say about James Cameron films is that they are visually astonishing. From Aliens and The Terminator to Titanic and Avatar, the director never disappoints in this regard.

Cameron is busy working away on his long-awaited Avatar sequels right now and it sounds like these films will also be visually spectacular. Speaking to the Toronto Sun, he said:

“I deal with images in that world every single day and there are some days when I look at those images and say, ‘This is really amazing.’ I’m not patting myself on the back with that comment. It’s a distillation of some of the best designers in the world and a great cast. But if you’ve got the script right and the design right and you have a great cast, then it’s just an iterative process to get the whole thing shot and assembled.”

Whether or not Avatar 2 will be able to match the impact of the original film remains to be seen but hopefully, Cameron produces a gripping action-adventure none the less. His track record certainly isn’t too shabby.

Avatar 2 sees Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Matt Gerald, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi and Sigourney Weaver all reprising their roles from the first film, while new additions to the cast include Kate Winslet, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Filip Geljo, Jamie Flatters, Bailey Bass, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Duane Evans Jr., Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Keston John and CJ Jones.
