World of Warships: Legends celebrates first anniversary with major update

July 28, 2020 by Andrew Newton

It’s almost a whole year since World of Warships: Legends took to the high seas and gave players on Xbox One and PS4 the thrill and excitement of naval warfare and to celebrate, Wargaming are releasing a huge update featuring a new campaign, a line of French destroyers in early access and a variety of items from past events the first year, including rare commanders.  See more of the update in the trailer below….

The new ‘Valhalla Rising’ campaign features the Tier VII Premium German battleship Odin which comes with 12 inch guns and torpedoes. This campaign will feature 100 levels and 5 weeks worth of missions so there’s plenty of battles to be fought.

There’s also a new ‘Legendary Birthday’ project available that will take players through this past year’s updates with themed rewards for each one completed. There will be special missions each week that give players the opportunity to gain exclusive equipment and commanders from Legends’ biggest updates.

Ranked Battles make a return and for the first two weeks of the update, players will battle it out in Tier V ships.  There will then be a weeks break followed by battles in Tier VI ships with even more rewards for the captains who reach the top.

The roster of ships is increasing with the arrival of the new French navy destroyer line into early access.  This line features cruiser-like firepower, high speed and the higher tiers will have Main-Battery Reload Booster consumables.  On the subject of ships, US Navy Light Cruisers will also be preparing to exit early access.

Finally, the update will bring three new maps, Spotter Planes for battleships, and a rework of the Quick-Command wheel that incorporates ship horns.

Celebrate World of Warships: Legends’s anniversary with the July update.
