John Boyega teams with Gavin Hood for The Test

September 22, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that John Boyega has signed on to star in The Test, the next feature from Eye in the Sky and Official Secrets director Gavin Hood.

Described as a contained thriller, The Test will follow “a soft-spoken immigrant (Payman Maadi) taking a citizen evaluation test and a brilliant young behavioral psychologist (Boyega) supervising ‘the test’ who confront a terrorist group lead by a far-right fanatic.”

“[The Test] is a heart-pounding psychological thriller, set in an authoritarian near-future that grabbed me by the throat and left me reeling,” said Hood.

Boyega will next be seen in Steve McQueen’s Small Axe, and also has the heist drama Naked Singularity in the can. His upcoming projects include They Cloned Tyrone, Rebel Ridge and Borderland, but the plan is to shoot The Test first.
