M. Night Shyamalan begins shooting his next film Old, shares teaser poster

Filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan has announced today that filming is now underway on his next project for Universal Pictures, with the director taking to social media to share a teaser poster for the thriller and revealing its title as Old.

As he did with his recent films The Visit, Split and Glass, Shyamalan is self-financing Old, with Universal distributing. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it has previously been reported that the film is inspired by the French graphic novel Sandcastle, which revolves around a body discovered on a beach.

Featuring in the cast of Old are Gael Garcia Bernal, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ken Leung, Rufus Sewell, Embeth Davidtz and Emun Elliott, and the film is currently slated for release on July 23rd 2021.
