Runescape refreshes Distractions and Diversions

September 15, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Jagex are celebrating 12 years of Distractions and Diversions in the iconic Runescape by giving the much loved Penguin Hide and Seek D&D a refresh and introducing a brand new distraction for players to enjoy.

Distractions and Diversions has been a popular content type for Runescape fans wanting a break from questing for many years and over that time has grown to include more than 30 different activities that renew on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

The popular Penguin Hide and Seek Distraction and Diversion has been given a make-over.  As usual the mission is for players to seek out and find members of the KGP (Killer Gentoo Penguins) who have infiltrated Gielinor after a noted increase in their numbers by the Polar Bears for Justice (PBJ).  Hunt down these elusive secret agent penguins in order to gain a new series of rewards, including a high-tec’ penguin tracking device, new titles and the extremely cute Sheldon the Baby Penguin pet.

The Effigy Incubator is a new advanced Distraction and Diversion that has been introduced for those who have completed the recently released Desperate Measures quest.  This new D&D is a time based one that provides windfalls of XP on a monthly basis and also provides best-in-slot urns that can be used while out in the world.  While effigies have been in game since June 2010, this new minigame is sure to capture player’s attentions.

Visit Runescape and take part in some entertaining diversions.
