Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer set for Shotgun Wedding

October 30, 2020 by Gary Collinson

The Wrap is reporting that Lionsgate has set Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers) and Armie Hammer (Rebecca) to star in Shotgun Wedding, an action comedy which is being directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect).

According to the trade, the film will see Lopez and Hammer as “a couple hosting a destination wedding with their lovable but opinionated families, only for the couple to get cold feet and for the entire wedding party to be taken hostage, forcing the couple to save their loved ones before they get at each other’s throats.”

“Jennifer and Armie’s irresistible magnetism, separately and together, make them the perfect pairing for this action comedy,” states Lionsgate’s Erin Westerman. “They are both incredibly funny actors that can also deliver on the action, but what sets this movie apart is the way their infectious chemistry commands the screen. You can’t take your eyes off them.”

Ryan Reynolds was previously attached to star, but remains on board as an executive producer.

Lopez will next be seen in the rom-com Marry Me alongside Owen Wilson, while Hammer’s latest film Rebecca has just hit Netflix and he next appears in director Kenneth Branagh’s Agatha Christie adaptation Death on the Nile.
