Shazam! star Adam Brody teases what fans can expect from the DC sequel

October 23, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Adam Brody, one of the stars of Shazam! has teased what fans can expect from the second movie.

Shazam! has certainly played its own part in DC’s movie renaissance of late with the Zachary Levi-led film earning itself a sequel.

Adam Brody, who played the adult superhero version of Freddy in the movie, is returning for Shazam! Fury of the Gods and has teased what fans can expect from the film, particularly when it comes to the Shazam family of superheroes.

Talking to Screen Rant, the actor said that while there will be big action sequences, the movie will retain its comic sensibilities: “I’m sure there’ll be moments of real peril that you take seriously as well, but leaning into the comedy and leaning into the goofiness and the wish fulfillment of it all is a pretty natural and joyful experience.”

SEE ALSO: Shazam! Fury of the Gods delay won’t affect filming schedule, says director David F. Sandberg

He confirmed that there would be wires and stuntwork for the actors and that this is something that he finds very exciting. Hopefully, Shazam! Fury of the Gods goes down as well as the first movie and can find that perfect mix of thrills and laughs that fans are looking for.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will reunite star Zachary Levi with director David F. Sandberg and screenwriter Henry Gayden. Both Asher Angel (Billy Batson), Jack Dylan Grazer (Freddy Freeman), and the rest of the Shazam Family are expected to return for the sequel. The sequel is now currently scheduled to release on June 2nd, 2023.
