The Walking Dead: World Beyond star teases Rick Grimes movie connections

October 7, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Nico Tortorella, one of the stars of The Walking Dead: World Beyond, has teased the show’s connections to the Rick Grimes movie.

New spin-off The Walking Dead: World Beyond premiered on Sunday and featured links to Rick Grimes’ disappearance from the main show.

While World Beyond will tell its own two-season story, Nico Tortorella, who plays Felix on the show, believes that it’s all heading in the direction of the Rick Grimes movie.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, the actor said: “I mean, I think that’s why the show was being made in so many ways. There are giant pieces of the puzzle that are put together right from the first episode of this show. And I think in a lot of ways, the show is leading us to the bigger, the movies and the larger storyline. For sure.”

He also told ComicBook.com that he knows where Rick is in the story, which implies that the entire cast has been made aware of this big plot point. So, it seems that fans of Rick will need to tune into World Beyond if they want to catch all the details.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond expands the universe of The Walking Dead, delving into a new mythology and story that follows the first generation raised in a surviving civilization of the post-apocalyptic world. Two sisters along with two friends leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest.  Pursued by those who wish to protect them and those who wish to harm them, a tale of growing up and transformation unfurls across dangerous terrain, challenging everything they know about the world, themselves and each other.  Some will become heroes.  Some will become villains.  But all of them will find the truths they seek.

Created by Scott M. Gimple and showrunner Matt Negrete, The Walking Dead: World Beyond features a cast that includes Aliyah Royale as Iris, Alexa Mansour as Hope, Annet Mahendru as Huck, Nicolas Cantu as Elton, Hal Cumpston as Silas, Nico Tortorella as Felix, Julia Ormond as Elizabeth, Natalie Gold as Lyla, Al Calderon as Barca, Scott Adsit as Tony and Ted Sutherland as Percy.
