Writing Free Verse 101 with New York Times Bestselling Author Barbara Bottner | The Writer Experience #120

October 25, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Listen to the latest episode of The Writer Experience…

In this episode of The Writer Experience, Court and Harry are joined by New York Times bestselling author Barbara Bottner.

Since growing up in the 1960s Bronx, Barbara has had a hand in almost every aspect of book publishing. She has written and illustrated over 50 books for children, has reviewed books for major trade and consumer publications such as The New York Times, has published short stories and essays in national newspapers and magazines, has written written sitcoms and screenplays, and has been teaching writing and illustrating in major institutions, including UCLA, Otis Parsons, and the University of Miami since 1973.

Barbara’s first young adult novel since the 1980s, I Am Here Now, just released in August and is on sale now. Set in the 1960s, I Am Here Now is a heart-breaking, powerful, and inspiring novel in verse about one artist’s coming of age–a strong depiction of what it’s like to shatter your life and piece it all back together.
