First images from Netflix’s Pacific Rim: The Black anime series

November 3, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Two years on from its original announcement, we now have our first look at Pacific Rim: The Black, an original Netflix anime series which expands upon the world of Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim: Uprising.

Thanks to Netflix Japan Anime (via Bloody Disgusting), two images have been released, the first of which features a fearsome Kaiju, with the second offering a look at our two young protagonists – an idealistic teenage boy and his naïve younger sister – who are forced to pilot an abandoned Jaeger across a hostile landscape in a desperate attempt to find their missing parents.

“Long ago, humanity defeated the Kaiju. Now, they’re evacuating Australia. Join a pair of siblings and their battered, long-abandoned Jaegar as they battle across a continent of danger.”

Pacific Rim: The Black is slated to hit Netflix at some point in 2021.
