Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins names three other superheroes she would like to tackle

December 30, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Fresh from the release of Wonder Woman 1984 in theatres and on the HBO Max streaming service, director Patty Jenkins has named three other superhero franchises she would be interested in if she had the chance.

Taking to Twitter to answer a fan question during the Wonder Woman 1984 Watch Party, Jenkins named DC’s Superman, Sony andMarvel’s Spider-Man, and Marvel Studios’ Black Widow as the three characters she would most want to direct a film for.

Thank you for the question. Probably Superman, Spiderman or Black Widow! So much potential with all of them, always. https://t.co/zDtxgZuwM9

Although Jenkins would be interested in developing these three characters, the filmmaker currently has three other projects in the works right now including directing Cleopatra, which will reunite Jenkins with Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, the Star Wars spin-off Rogue Squadron for Disney and Lucasfilm, and now it has recently been announced that Warner Bros. is fast-tracking Wonder Woman 3 into development with both Jenkins and Gadot returning as director and star respectively.

Wonder Woman 1984 reunites Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins with stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Robin Wright (General Antiope) and new additions Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah,  and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) as Maxwell Lord.
