The Boys to tackle controversial ‘Herogasm’ storyline in season 3

January 19, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Season three of The Boys will soon begin production, and we are learning more about its upcoming stories. In particular, one story is likely to delight fans of the comics as the show is finally tackling Herogasm.

Yes, the six-issue spinoff series titled The Boys: Herogasm will make its way into the show’s third season, scheduled as the sixth episode as per the official script. Series creator Eric Kripke took to his Twitter account to offer up this news, giving fans a look at the script’s cover page.

From day one, everyone dared me to make this episode. CHALLENGE MET MOTHERFUCKERS#TheBoys #TheBoysTV @TheBoysTV @PrimeVideo @SPTV #SPNFamily @Sethrogen @evandgoldberg pic.twitter.com/q4pAMZWZDl

With a script penned by Jessica Chou, Herogasm is a story familiar to fans of the comics but will likely intrigue those who only watch the series. While the show is known to deviate from the comics, the Herogasm episode will likely follow the Seven as they pretend to leave Earth for a mission where they fight against alien threats. In reality, though, these not-so-good superheroes head to an island resort for a wild weekend filled with sex and drugs. Our titular Boys, led by Butcher and Hughie, show up to this chaotic event trying to dig up more dirt on Vought.

Yes, you are about to witness a superhero party filled with sex and drugs, something that sounds fairly common in the world of The Boys. Will the series make massive changes to this story like they did with the recent Stormfront arc? Only time will tell, but be prepared for one of the show’s wildest episodes.

The Boys season 3 is set to begin production soon ahead of an expected premiere in 2022. Meanwhile the first two seasons are available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video.
