Turrican Flashback launches on Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4

January 29, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Every gamer of a certain age will remember the great shoot ’em up that was Turrican and its successor Turrican II.  Gamers on the old 8 bit computers and the Amiga and Atari ST loved the fast paced action and the absolutely brilliant soundtracks by Chris Huelsbeck.  Now, thanks to ININ Games, gamers on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch can enjoy the Turrican Flashback collection.

Turrican Flashback is available both as a physical boxed edition and digitally from the relevant stores and features four classic titles:

  • Turrican
  • Turrican II: The Final Fight,
  • Mega Turrican
  • Super Turrican

This collection features a fully reworked control scheme making them more accessible than ever before and also a brand new rewind and save function giving more chance to complete the game without having to leave the device on throughout the night  (this did happen).  Players are also able to customise their experience with a variety of different display options.

Gamers who love huge levels with lots of opportunity to blast their way through multiple enemies and epic bosses will love what the collection has to offer and as before, they come with a soundtrack from the legend himself, Chris Huelsbeck.

Turrican is the best thing to come out of Germany since Beethoven and Turrican Flashback is certainly a must have game for any gamer who loves an action packed shoot ’em up experience.  It’s good to see the return of a classic title.  Now all I need now is to see a remake of L.E.D Storm by Capcom.
