Keke Palmer will headline Jordan Peele’s next horror film

February 17, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Another actor will join Daniel Kaluuya and Lupita Nyong’o as the key figure in Jordan Peele’s horror films. That person is the wonderful Keke Palmer as Deadline reports that the actress will star in Peel’s upcoming still-untitled next movie at Universal Pictures.

Details are still under wraps about the film, as the writer/director keeps it close to the chest. The upcoming film is part of Monkeypaw’s exclusive five-year deal with Universal. Universal and Peele have previously teamed together for the Oscar-winning Get Out and the acclaimed follow-up, Us. Monkeypaw Production also has Nia DaCosta’s Candyman coming out later this year, which also sees Peele as a producer.

Palmer is no stranger to horror stories, as she starred in Ryan Murphy’s campy horror series Scream Queens and MTV’s Scream: The TV Series. She recently starred in Hustlers, hosted the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, and will headline the upcoming thriller, Alice.

Deadline reports that Peele was “quick to offer Palmer the lead of his next project.” This will serve as one of her biggest projects to date, and Universal Pictures will release the film on July 22nd, 2022.
