Bad Blood update brings nine new levels to Surgeon Simulator 2

March 2, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Bossa Studios has announced the release of the Bad Blood update for their chaotic surgery game Surgeon Simulator 2.  This free update brings nine brand-new competitive levels to players as well as tweaks to the UI, creation mode additions and global leaderboards.

The highlight of the Bad Blood update is, of course, the nine new competitive levels which will provide an entertaining challenge for would be mad surgeons.  These new levels are:

  • WASD Heroes: A free-for-all homage to classic arcade dance machines.
  • Panel Smash: Make a mad dash to the finish line but be prepared for chaotic destruction and ball pits.
  • Match 4: A Supermarket Sweep style organ-fuelled time-trial brimming with challenges.
  • Anatomy Theft: The ultimate test of player’s surgery skills with a trial that will have you identifying kidney and lungs.
  • Limb-Ripper: A level that involves doing exactly what it sounds like.
  • Surgical Mayhem: Bob has a very limited supply of body parts. Whoever secures enough limbs will win.
  • Heading Out: A classic, carnival-style coconut shy but using Bob’s heads. Dunk the most Bob heads to win.
  • Top Of The World: Take part in a race to the top in a series of challenges that must be toppled along the way.
  • Surgery Relay:  Time to cooperate in a relay-style challenge, but keep an eye out for competitors, who will take any  opportunity for sabotage.

Bossa Studios have been listening to the fans and have now implemented campaign leaderboards.  These global leaderboards track how long it takes players to complete competitive levels and how much blood Bob has lost.  These are a great way for proving who is the best surgeon out of all your friends.

As well as the above, there are also a number of quality of life improvements, including a new design to the lobby terminal, better definitions for game modes and simplified party invite notifications.  There are also new props and textures for use in Creation Mode.

The Bad Blood update is out now and free for all.  If you are yet to get your hands on Surgeon Simulator 2, it is available now on the Epic Game Store for £19.99 / $24.99.
