The Asylum pits Ape vs. Monster in trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong mockbuster

May 2, 2021 by Amie Cranswick

Film fans around the world breathed a collective sigh of relief last month when Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla vs. Kong smashed up the box office, suggesting a possible life after COVID for the theatrical industry.

No one is going to be more pleased to see blockbusters back on the big screen than the folks at The Asylum, who’ve wasted little time in getting back in on the mockbuster business with the release of their latest low-budget offering Ape vs. Monster.

Check out the poster and trailer here…

An ape, lost in space, crash-lands back to Earth. The vessel oozes a sludge that triggers massive growth in both the ape, as well as a passing Gila monster. Once the creatures reach titanic size, their paths cross again, leading to a giant brawl in which Mankind hangs in the balance.

Ape vs. Monster is out now and stars Eric Roberts, Shayne Hartigan, Katie Sereika, R.J. Wagner, Arianna Scott, and Quinn Baker.
