Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Ben Whishaw, and Frances McDormand set for Sarah Polley’s Women Talking

June 17, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Women Talking, Sarah Polley’s first feature-film since 2011’s superb Take This Waltz has filled out its impressive cast with Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Ben Whishaw, and Frances McDormand.

An adaptation of Miriam Toews’ bestselling novel, Women Talking follows a group of women in an isolated religious colony as they struggle to reconcile their faith with a series of sexual assaults committed by the colony’s men. The book won multiple awards when it was published back in 2018, and will be adapted and directed by My Life Without Me’s Polley.

As well as Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Ben Whishaw, and Frances McDormand, the cast will be complimented by August Winter, Liv McNeil and Kate Hallett, who make their debuts in the Orion Pictures and Plan B Entertainment production.

It almost seems like a redundant question with that cast, but are you excited for Women Talking? Have you read Miriam Toews’ novel? Let us know what you think of this news by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
