The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 footage debuts at E3 2021

June 15, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Your favorite Hyrule Warrior is back for another round of stunning gameplay. For years, fans have clamored for a follow-up to the beloved 2017 game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo finally answered those prayers with some of the first footage for Breath of the Wild 2.

Producer Eiji Aonuma noted “that development had been steadily progressing” but offered up some first-look footage. As seen in the new footage, Aonuma confirmed that for the sequel, “this time around, the setting for the adventure has been expanded to include the skies above Hyrule.” It also seems that Link now has the ability to move through solid objects.

And before audiences went wild asking for more information on the release of Breath of the Wild 2, Aonuma let fans down easy by asking them to “wait a bit longer” for a specific release date. The only date given is that the hotly-anticipated Zelda game will debut sometime in 2022.

Check out the trailer here…

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is slated for release on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
