August 13, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Reptoid Games and publisher Way Down Deep have announced the release of Fire Tonight on Nintendo Switch and Steam for PC and Mac.  This new narrative puzzler follows a couple’s mission to find one another in the midst of a burning city.  Watch the new launch trailer below…

In Fire Tonight the city is on fire, a raging inferno spreads from building to building and in the middle of it is Maya and Devin.  Despite the heat of the flames, their passion burns much hotter and Maya is determined to make her way through the blaze to get to Devin who waits for her in an apartment filled of their memories.

As Maya skates through the burning metropolis, avoiding the flames and police patrols, and taking adventurous routes over rooftops filled with puzzles, Devin eases his anxieties by listening to mixtapes and distracting himself with mementos of their relationship.  While guiding Maya through the puzzles obstructing her path while calming Devin by exploring fond memories.

Fire Tonight has been inspired by the Information Society song of the same name which is a love ballad to a time before mobile phones.

“Information Society couldn’t be more pleased to see this delightful narrative game based on THE song ‘Fire Tonight,’ from our 1990 album Hack,” the band said. “We love the story, the art, and everything else about it!”

Fire Tonight is available now on Nintendo Switch and PC and Mac via Steam, priced £4.49/ $5.99/ €4.99.
