New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film to be written by Colin and Casey Jost

August 3, 2021 by Ricky Church

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be returning to the big screen as Deadline reports that Saturday Night Live veteran Colin Jost and his brother Casey Jost will be writing a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film for Paramount.

Plot details are being kept under wraps and it is unknown whether the Josts film will be a reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle franchise or a continuation of the 2014 reboot series with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and its 2016 sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. However, Transformers director Michael Bay, who produced the previous two films through his company Platinum Dunes, is returning as producer alongside Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Scott Mednick and Galen Walker so a continuation could be possible.

This film is unrelated to Nickelodeon’s computer-animated film from Seth Rogen, The Mitchells vs. The Machines director Jeff Rowe and writer Brendan O’Brien. Rogen recently announced their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released in 2023.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film franchise has seen six other big-screen releases with five of them live-action and 2007’s TMNT computer-animated. Altogether, these films have grossed over a billion dollars at the box office.
