Marvel’s WandaVision scene-stealer Agatha Harkness gets spin-off series

October 7, 2021 by EJ Moreno

It was Agatha all along, and it will be Agatha again as the scene-stealing character from Marvel’s WandaVision is getting her own spin-off series on Disney+.

The story comes from Variety, which notes that the Emmy-nominated Kathryn Hahn will return to play Agatha. Reports describe the upcoming series as a “dark comedy” which will see WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer serve as the writer and executive producer. It will mark the first of Schaeffer’s overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television in May.

In WandaVision, Hahn stars as Agnes, Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor. It was later revealed she was in fact Agatha Harkness, a powerful witch that wanted Wanda’s powers.

In the series finale of WandaVision, Wanda trapped Agatha in the town of Westview and reverted to her Agnes persona. Will we see Agatha’s exit from Westview and attempt to gain more witchy power? Only time will tell, but be sure to let us know on our social channels @FlickeringMyth if you’re looking forward to seeing more of Agatha’s adventures…

Marvel Studios’ captivating new series WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

WandaVision features a cast that includes Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis), Randall Park (Agent Jimmy Woo), Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) and Kathryn Hahn (Agatha Harkness).

WandaVision is available to stream now on Disney+.
