Sonic The Hedgehog 2 sees Lee Majdoub reprise role as Dr. Robotnik’s henchman

October 1, 2021 by Ricky Church

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will see another familiar face return as the film has revealed over on its Twitter account that Lee Majdoub will reprise his role as Agent Stone, a government agent and one of Dr. Robotnik’s main assistants/henchmen as he tried to capture Sonic.

Plot details aren’t known yet for the sequel, but Sonic The Hedgehog ended with a mid-credits scene showing Tails, Sonic’s faithful friend and partner from the video game series, arrive on Earth searching for him. A casting announcement a few weeks ago revealed another familiar face from the games as Idris Elba (The Suicide Squad) will voice Knuckles, Sonic’s one-time enemy turned ally and friend.

2020’s Sonic The Hedgehog went on to gross close to $320M worldwide, which came out during the early days of the pandemic. It was met with praise from critics and audiences alike.

I’m back for #SonicMovie2!!!
What… did you really think Dr. Robotnik could do this without me? (Don’t answer that).
Anyways, Happy #NationalCoffeeDay! #SteamedAustrianGoatMilkLatte https://t.co/4OBtdZnepu

Jeff Fowler is returning to direct Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with a script from Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington.  Majdoub is joining the already stacked cast of James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore and Jim Carrey.
