Amazon’s Hanna to end with upcoming third season

November 3, 2021 by Ricky Church

Just a few weeks prior to the premiere of the third season of Hanna, Amazon Prime’s spy thriller actin series Hanna is coming to an end. The news was revealed by Entertainment Weekly, who also released a batch of first-look images of the final season. Check them out here…

“That was always the intention, to be honest,” Hanna showrunner David Farr said to EW. “If you look back at when I was talking about the second season, I talked about how it needed ‘the third act.’ I come from the theater originally, and I always have full act structure in my head to how a piece of drama plays out. And in this case, I felt that there was this very clear arc.”

Farr teased how the season would end and the goals Hanna hopes to accomplish in her final battle against the mysterious people and purpose behind Utrax. “It’s really about Hanna having to come to the ultimate terms with who created her and how she was created and why, and the political context and stakes and consequences of that, and the personal consequences and stakes of that. It operates on a quite extreme family tragedy level. That central big arc of her finally coming to terms with the nemesis of what this project was, what is Utrax, what was it intended to do, who was behind it, what was it all about, and can she actually escape the destiny that it intended for her? That’s the fundamental drive of this season.”

The third season of HANNA continues the journey of an extraordinary young woman, played by Esmé Creed-Miles, who was created by the sinister organization Utrax and trained to be an assassin. Hanna (Creed-Miles) is now secretly trying to destroy Utrax from the inside and free herself from its grasp with the help of her previous nemesis, former-CIA agent Marissa Wiegler (Mireille Enos). Together they have coerced high-ranking Utrax agent John Carmichael (Dermot Mulroney) into aiding their mission, but her fellow young assassins, Sandy (Áine Rose Daly) and Jules (Gianna Kiehl), as well as new foes are starting to suspect Hanna’s plot. As Hanna moves closer to her goal, she begins to uncover not only a world-changing agenda but the true power behind Utrax that stands between her and freedom.

Hanna season 3 premieres on November 24th on Amazon Prime Video.
