Darth Vader rematch teased in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series concept art

November 11, 2021 by Gary Collinson

With a first look at Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi expected to arrive tomorrow during Disney+ Day, a sizzle reel for the live-action series popped up online today, and while it’s swiftly disappeared, some concept art remains.

As well as teasing the upcoming rematch between Ewan McGregor’s Ben Kenobi and Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader (something which is sure to prove controversial with some fans), it also confirms the live-action debut of the Emperor’s Jedi hunters the Inquisitors, along with a return to Vader’s Castle on Mustafar. Take a look at the concept art here…

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi begins ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is being directed by Deborah Chow (The Mandalorian), with McGregor joined in the cast by Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader), Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars) and Bonnie Piesse (Beru Lars), as well as Star Wars newcomers Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Maya Erskine and Benny Safdie.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will air on Disney in 2022.
